Engineering & Technology
How can you create beats? You might think of beatboxing, drumming, or even just tapping pens on a desk, but did you know you can code beats? Join us for our next Live Science on December 10th at 2pm PT to explore the intersection of beat-making and coding, with a focus on the beat machine and the origins of Boom Bap. There will also be an interactive session using EarSketch, a platform developed by Georgia Tech that uses code to create beats and music.
We encourage everyone to create a free EarSketch account ahead of time. Follow the instructions here!
Come celebrate Nano Day with us! This week, we'll take a close look at the nano-sized materials in both nature and technology. Researchers from the Molecular Foundry will take us on a little journey through this vast field of science. This session will be bilingual! Ask questions to our researchers in either English or Spanish.
Join us as atmospheric and climate scientists will be talking about atmospheric rivers. We'll be engaging attendees in community science and sharing how you can collect data from the comfort of your home. Finally, something new to tell your friends "what's up!"
Did you know that our engineers custom build a lot of the equipment used in Berkeley Lab research? Meet some of some of the people behind the big magnets and running experiments on our Advanced Light Source! Stay for a quick introduction to TinkerCAD and learn about the ways our engineers used 3D Design in their work.
