Application Process

Eligibility

This program is open to public school students in grades 10 and 11 in Alameda, San Francisco, and West Contra Costa counties.  Students must be full time residents of the state of California to apply.

We especially encourage high school students from underrepresented groups in STEM - Black, American Indians/Alaska Natives, Latinx, LGBTQ+, students from low income households, and those who will be the first generation in their family to attend college - to apply.

This program is for current high school sophomores and juniors.

Recommendations

Student applications must be accompanied by a recommendation by an educator, supervisor or mentor who can attest to the student's work ethic and potential to benefit from participating in BLDAP. Students will provide the name and contact information for their recommender in the application form, and should confirm beforehand that their chosen person is willing and able to provide the necessary information.
